Offertory Anthem I Would See Jesus Breedlove, arr. Shaffer
from “The Sacred Harp” (1867)
      I would see Jesus when the flowers of joy adorn my way,
      When sunshine and when hope surrounds my path from day to day,
      When friends I cherish most are near, and hearts encircle mine,
      Then, Father, would I turn from all to lean alone on Thine.
      I heard the voice of Jesus say, “Behold, I freely give
      the living water--thirsty one, stoop down and drink and live!”
      I came to Jesus and I drank of that life-giving stream,
      My thirst was quenched, my soul revived, and now I live in Him.
      I heard the voice of Jesus say, “I am this dark world’s light.
      Look unto me, thy morn shall rise, and all thy day be bright!”
      I looked to Jesus and I found in Him my star, my sun;
      And in that light of life I’ll walk till traveling days are done.

The EBoard is holding two congregational meetings to receive feedback on the proposal for Christ Church to start its own nursery school: They will be held on 4/13 and 4/20 in Barnwell Hall following the first church service. Review materials for the meeting will be sent via email in advance of these meeting. These materials will be available in the Church office if you do not use email. Please make an effort to attend one of these meetings.

There will be a "New Member Sunday" on April 20th at the 9:30 service. If you are interested in joining the church or have questions, please speak to Chuck, Julie or contact Carol Angle, Membership Chair, at .

A Thank You: The expertise of Mike Paytas, Brian Doyle (and his helper) and Juan Restrepo made it possible to hang the re-furbished chandelier in the stairwell of the Barnwell Building. Thank you.

Supporting The Eric Johnson House: One of the organizations supported by Christ Church SOS donations is The Eric Johnson House. This organization, located in Morristown, fulfills a largely unmet need for transitional housing and aftercare for persons living with HIV/AIDS. The Director has extended an open invitation to any member of our congregation who would like to attend a 1-hour tour of their facilities and programs. The next scheduled tour dates are April 10th

at 5:30 p.m. and April 16th at 9:00 a.m. Please RSVP by emailing . In addition, the EJ House is sponsoring a Walk-a-Thon on Sunday, May 4. Pledge forms are available on the table outside of Barnwell Hall.

ACTION ON DARFUR: - April 13th has been designated a New Jersey Global Day for Darfur, to focus attention and call for action on the still unresolved and rapidly deteriorating crisis in Darfur. There is urgent need and a unique window of opportunity to leverage the upcoming Olympic Games in Beijing to pressure China to use its influence in Sudan. The Essex County Coalition for Darfur is sponsoring a Torch Walk and Rally from 2 – 4pm, April 13th, beginning at Montclair High School and ending at the First Congregational Church. Visit www.ecc4darfur.org for details. Also, please visit the table outside of Barnwell Hall to learn more and commit to taking at least one action on behalf of the people of Darfur.
