Meditative Reflection

Nazi anti-Judaism was the work of godless, anti-Christian criminals. But it would not have been possible without the almost two thousand years' pre-history of 'Christian' anti-Judaism...

Service of Baptism for Matthew Addison Rosoff
Presented by David and Lindsay Rosoff
  We receive this child as new person in Christ. We offer our understanding and support as he explores life. We enfold him in our love, seeking together to grow in wisdom and stature and in favor with God and all people. We join with David and Lindsay in telling the Gospel in our midst, so that their child and all children may live with us for Christ, showing forth his love for all people.
Song of Dedication

Matthew, we greet you on this glad morning;
We are so happy that you are here.
Our fondest wishes go with you always:
God guard and keep you all through the years.

Silence & Prayer
Lord’s Prayer (“debts/debtors”)
      Our Father, who art in heaven,
      Hallowed be Thy name.
      Thy kingdom come,
      Thy will be done
      On earth as it is in heaven.
      Give us this day our daily bread
      And forgive us our debts
      As we forgive our debtors;
      And lead us not into temptation,
      But deliver us from evil,
      For Thine is the kingdom, and the power,
       and the glory forever. Amen
Invitation to Sharing
Offertory Anthem O Divine Redeemer Charles Gounod
Sue Logan, soprano
      O divine redeemer, I pray Thee, grant me pardon
      And remember not my sins! Forgive me!
Doxology OLD 100TH
      Praise God from whom all blessings flow;
      Sing praise, all creatures here below.
      Praise God above, ye heavenly hosts;
      Creator, Christ and Holy Ghost. Amen.

Choral Anthem Be Still My Soul Sibelius, arr. Bird
Patrick Wood, violin
      Be still, my soul, the Lord is on thy side:
      Bear patiently the cross of grief or pain;
      Leave to thy God to order and provide;
      In every change He faithful will remain.

      Through thorny ways leads to a joyful end.

      To guide the future as He has the past.
      Thy hope, thy confidence let nothing shake;
      All now mysterious shall be bright at last.

      His voice who ruled them while He dwelt below.

      When we shall be forever with the Lord.
      When disappointment, grief and fear are gone,
      Sorrow forgot, love’s purest joys restored.

      All safe and blessed, we shall meet at last.
