Fifteenth Sunday in Ordinary Time
July 13, 2008

Bulletin
Order of Worship
10:00 a.m. – Fifteenth Sunday in Ordinary Time

Meditative Reflection
Virtue is the habitual sense of right, and the habitual courage to act up to the sense of right combined with benevolent sympathies, and the charity which thinketh no evil. The union of the highest conscience and highest sympathy fulfill my notion of virtue.
Anna Brownwell Jameson
Wealth is a weak anchor, and glory cannot support a man; this is the law of God, that virtue only if firm, and cannot be shaken by a tempest.
Pythagoras

Hymn # 281 Guide Me, O Thou Great Jehovah CWM RHONDDA
Call to Worship Dave Sebastian

Leader:  We gather in the name of Jesus Christ, the head of the church and the Savior of the world,
People:  Not because we have invited Christ into our house, but because Christ has invited us into the house of the Lord.
Leader:  We have come, not to tell Christ what we will do,
People:  But to learn from Christ what we must do.
Leader:  We have listened for the voice of the Lord in the earthquake, wind, and fire.
All:  Now we await the still small voice. Speak, O Lord, for your servants hear.

Our Father, who art in heaven,
Hallowed be Thy name.
Thy kingdom come,
Thy will be done
On earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread

As we forgive our debtors;
And lead us not into temptation,
But deliver us from evil,
For Thine is the kingdom, and the power,
and the glory forever. Amen

Step into Africa World Vision, in partnership with The Presbyterian Church at New Providence (PCNP), will present this experiential exhibit, open daily from July 24 - 27 in the PCNP parking lot on Springfield Avenue. The interactive exhibit illustrates the impact of the AIDS pandemic on the communities, families, and children of many of the countries of Africa.

Come walk in the steps of a child living in an AIDS-affected community in Africa. It features a stirring audio tour combined with captivating photography that will transport you to the heart of Africa, giving you a completely new perspective on the greatest humanitarian crisis of our time.

While the Step into Africa exhibit focuses on AIDS, it also explores prevalent conditions in Africa through a broad base of events scheduled for children, teens, adults, and professionals. As part of this four day exhibit, on July 24th from 2-4 there will be a forum to explore the many aspects, challenges, and initiatives related to the HIV/AIDS crisis. The forum comprises several very prominent local and international specialists dedicated to providing advocacy, care giving, prevention, and treatment for those affected by HIV and AIDS. These specialists represent leading edge initiatives in the corporate and not for profit sectors that are seeking solutions for this crisis.

The hope is to educate, create awareness, and generate advocacy against the greatest humanitarian crisis of our time. AIDS is a pandemic that has killed over 30 million people globally, orphaned 12 million children, and infects another 2 million people every year. For free admission or information to Step into Africa or one of the events, please contact Joe Salsberry (212) 736-2997 or .
