Leader: |
Let us now praise great women
And our mothers who lived before us
People: |
What she has done will be told in memory of her
Leader: |
She took heart and was healed by her faith
Come all women of heart and faith
People: |
What she has done will be told in memory of her
Leader: |
She did a beautiful thing for Jesus
Come all women who make an offering of love
People: |
What she has done will be told in memory of her
Leader: |
She, out of poverty, gave everything she had
Come, all you women who have little but give much
People: |
What she has done will be told in memory of her
Leader: |
There were many women there, watching by the cross
Come, all you women who wait faithfully on the Lord
People: |
What she has done will be told in memory of her
Leader: |
The women ran from the tomb, in fear and great joy, to tell others
Come, all you sisters with a gospel to proclaim
People: |
What she has done will be told in memory of her
Leader: |
Let us praise great women
And our mothers before us
The generations of women
Through whom God’s glory has been seen

| Musical Meditation |
The Gift of Love |
American Folk Tune, arr. Hopson |
| Though I may speak with bravest fire, and have the gift |
| to all inspire, |
| And have not love; my words are vain, as sounding brass, |
| and hopeless gain. |
| Though I may give all I possess, and striving so my love |
| profess, |
| But not be given by love within, the profit soon turns |
| strangely thin. |
| Come, spirit, come, our hearts control. Our spirits long to be |
| made whole. |
| Let inward love guide every deed. By this we worship, |
| we are freed. Amen. |
